From the California coast, and the Redwoods National Park, we drove to Crater Lake National Park.
We were a little surprised by the amount of snow still around at Crater Lake. Almost all of the hiking trails were closed. We were able to walk a little around the Rim Trail on top of the snow. The lake was still spectacular!
Crater Lake is the clearest lake in the world, 1,943 ft. deep at its deepest point, over 6 miles across, and not fed by any river or stream. It is filled with snow melt.
We stayed in a lovely cabin inside the park, and here are some more pictures from the next day.
That's all from Crater Lake National Park. Our next stop is Lincoln City. OR on the coast.
Great pictures, thank you! It's so cool there is snow. It's so hot here on the east coast, it's hard to imagine snow. Glad you enjoyed the lake, it does look stunning.
