December 2018 - Tucson

I went to Virginia for 2 weeks in early December for a visit with my daughters and to attend the wedding of my niece, Stephanie.  As a bonus, my brother’s first grandchild (my Great niece) was born the same day as Stephanie’s wedding.  Here are some pictures.

I like to attend University of Arizona Women's basketball games.  It costs me $5 to get in.  At this game in December they are celebrating the 127th birthday of the invention of basketball and the special guest is Margaret Naismith Jonker, the great granddaughter of Dr. James Naismith.  I was able to meet her in person during a break in the game.  She is very tall.

Here is the view from some of my walks from my rented condo.

Between Christmas Day and New Years Day, I attended the Arizona Bowl Block Party in downtown Tucson. It was held the day before the Arizona Bowl here in Tucson.  It was cold that week, but the highlight of the block party was a performance by a Beatles/Wings Tribute Band called “Live and Let Die”.  The lead singer is a Paul McCartney look-a-like and sound-a-like (who happens to be from Tucson).  They were excellent – worth seeing if you ever get a chance.  Here is a sample:

I ended up only playing golf once in December – the weather got very cool here at the end of December.  I played on a nice day in mid December at San Pedro Golf course.
