August 2019 - Rapid City

From Omaha, I drove to Rapid City, SD.  That is about 20 miles from Mt. Rushmore so I played golf in Rapid City and visited Mt. Rushmore. 

I visited Mt. Rushmore in the evening my first day in Rapid City.  It was very cloudy and overcast. Here are some pictures.

I went back to Mt. Rushmore the second day in the morning and got some great pictures.  I also did the hike up to the base of the incredible sculpture.

The sculptor of Mt. Rushmore is Gutzon Borglum.  Here is a sculpture of him.

 

I played golf at the Elks Golf Course in Rapid City and had a very good round.

August 2019 - Omaha

From Branson, I made my way north to Omaha, NE to stay for a couple of days.  I played golf in Council Bluffs, IA (across the Mississippi River from Omaha) and also in Omaha while I was there.

Walked 18 holes at Fox Run Golf Course in Council Bluffs, IA.  Very nice and affordable course.

Played at Benson Park Golf Course in Omaha, NE the next day.  Beautiful and challenging course.

I stumbled onto live music concert in downtown Omaha that evening and walked around the city.
