June 2018 Colorado

I am back from my Virginia/Maryland vacation.  My first stop after arriving in Denver was to go to Rocky Mountain National Park just west of Denver.  I did one hike there (the Colorado River Trail) and drove through the park on the Trail Ridge Road.  The Colorado River starts somewhere in the Rockies in the National Park but there are so many tributaries that come together the actual source for the river has not been identified.  On the drive I saw deer and a huge moose.  I had no idea that an adult moose is quite large.  Here are some pics from my hike and the moose.

At the end of the park I hiked a short trail to Adams Falls

Here is Lake Granby in the Arapaho National Forest

After one night in Kremmling, CO (a tiny town with nothing to speak of) I drove to Grand Junction, CO the next day and played golf at the Chipeta Golf Course.  This was a very nice course with great views.  There were no par 5’s and I shot a 71 (on a par 59 course).

That is it for Colorado.  For the next post, it is on to Moab, Utah.
