I drove from Carson City, NV to Sacramento, CA in
mid August. I spent a week in Sacramento
at a great airbnb place where I had my own entrance to my room and overlooked a
man-made lake used for ski instruction. I
did some exploring around Sacramento, CA and played golf. Here are some pictures.
California State Capitol (and museum inside)

Sacramento River in downtown
Downtown Sacramento – Old Sacramento (neat place
with many shops and restaurants)
I played golf at The Ridge Golf Course in Auburn,
CA. I was paired up with a retired guy
from Monterey, CA who was a really good player.
We had a great time, even though I shot a big number (it was a difficult
course).
I went on a day trip to Oakland to see the
Oakland Athletics play at the Oakland Coliseum (also where the Oakland Raiders
play – for now). I got a great seat at
the last minute on Stub Hub for the afternoon game against the Texas Rangers. Anyone with a ticket can go to the Treehouse (a sports bar with some outdoor seating above the left field bleachers). You can also buy a cheaper ticket that only gets you into the Treehouse. Interesting concept!
Next, I am taking a week break from my western US
trip to visit Gatlinburg, TN.
