In the middle of West Glacier and East Glacier is
Logan Pass. I did another amazing hike
from Logan Pass called the Highline Trail.
This trail follows the Going to the Sun Road back toward the West from
Logan Pass (much higher than the road).
It is a 7.6 mile trail that can be made into a loop back to The Loop
shuttle stop by taking The Loop Trail (another 4 miles) from the Granite Park
Chalet. I did an extra mile by taking a
spur up to an overlook to see the Grinnell glacier. It was spectacular. This was a really long hike with amazing
scenery – I would put it into my all time top 5 hikes also. I hiked about 13 miles altogether – whew!
Here are some pictures:

I did another hike the next day from Logan Pass
on the Hidden Lake overlook trail. This
one required climbing over a couple of snow fields and I saw two different mountain
goats on the way. It was about 4 miles
total and not too difficult.

The same day as the Hidden Lake hike I also hiked
the Avalanche Lake trail. This one was about
5 miles total and not too difficult. The
lake was awesome.

Next I am off to Washington state, I will be
staying in Bremerton and visiting Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National
Park, and Seattle.
Hey Rob! Very nice post. Love the animal pics as well as all the others. So cool to see the big horn sheep in a natural setting like that. Great blog!
