March 2018 Kentucky

My first visit to Kentucky was a rousing success.  I spent the week at a nice little house in the state capital, Frankfort.  It was a little chilly but I played golf on Monday and Tuesday and had a great time.  There were snow flurries a couple of days later in the week.

Here is the old State Capitol building in Frankfort.

I played Juniper Hill (in Frankfort) and Longview (in Georgetown) golf courses.  Here is hole number 17 at Longview.

I went to Louisville Wednesday and Thursday and toured the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory and also Churchill Downs.  Louisville is a nice city.

Here are some shots from Churchill Downs in Louisville.

Friday was a day trip to Cincinnati.  A beautiful city (also on the Ohio River like Louisville).  I had some great barbecue at Eli's Barbecue at the famous Findlay Market in Cincinnati.  Here are some shots of Cincinnati.

Tomorrow it is off to Arkansas.  I will be staying in Little Rock for a week and am planning to play more golf there and see the sights.

  1. Beautiful pics! Love the blog. How are you finding the golf courses? Like them, love them, wouldn't go again?

  2. I am finding the golf courses with Google. I check out the ones in the vicinity, check the ratings, and then check for value. It is somewhere between like and love. I really like most of them and they are a great value. I would go to all of them again.
